Apparently I will occasionally feel the need to tell you guys where I'm at and what I'm up to.
October was an extremely busy month, between LOTS of Etsy orders for Halloween, some commission work, preparing for the Steampunk November event this coming weekend, the corset buying series of posts, the 2172 contest, and my husband's chronic illness flaring up.
And it's not over yet. I'm still madly making things to sell next weekend, have two corset commissions to finish, and a ton of personal projects I'm itching to tackle. Plus I'm writing an article for publication that's due Dec. 1st.
Besides personal sewing projects (some steampunk, some not) I have other things I want/need to work on in the coming months. I'll be working on moving this blog from Blogger to Wordpress. You may notice that the blog is now located at www.steamingenious.com instead of steamingenious.blogspot.com, although both links will continue to work.
I also have been feeling the need for some intensive self-study of advanced sewing and design. I'm completely self-taught and have really just been learning as I work on each project over the last few years. But I feel I've sort of plateaued when it comes to sewing, in everything but corsets. So that's something I'm hoping to find some time to pursue.
My upcoming events to attend will be Steampunk November this weekend, I'll be attending Dickens on the Strand but not vending, and then I'll be vending at Space City Con in Galveston on Jan 3-5, 2014. I'm looking forward to hopefully doing more events in 2014 than I've been able to do in 2013, although I've already missed getting a booth at a couple of events that sold out quick.
All of this means content may be a BIT slim on the blog for a while. But do not despair! Voting on the 2172 contest is open until the 16th and I will soon be announcing a new giveaway brought to us by a very cool new steampunk project! I also will be posting reviews of some books and other media as well as a few show-and-tells of a few projects I've been working on.
I am also trying to make sure that I keep my Pinterest and Tumblr accounts active, with new pretty stuff to look at, so check those out!
